Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember information between pages and visits. Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR we have to tell you which cookies we use and, for any that are not strictly necessary, ask your permission first.
2. Our approach
Rosewood Arts uses a small number of essential cookies that the shop needs to work. With your permission, we also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website. We do not use advertising cookies, Facebook Pixel or any tracker that follows you across other websites.
When you first visit, a short message asks whether you are happy for us to use Google Analytics. Choose Accept cookies or Reject all, or pick what you allow with Customise. Google Analytics only runs if you accept it.
3. Cookies we use
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Session essential | Keeps you signed in and remembers what is in your basket as you move between pages. | Until you close your browser, or after 2 hours without activity |
| Security essential | Protects the site and your account against forged requests. Standard on any website with forms or sign-in. | Same as the session cookie |
| Remember me essential | Only set if you tick "Remember me" when signing in, so you stay signed in on that device. | Up to 5 years, or until you sign out |
| Your cookie choice essential | Remembers which cookies you allowed (all, or essential only), so we do not ask on every page. | 6 months |
| Google Analytics only with your consent | Lets us see how many people visit, which pages and products they look at and how they found us. We only see totals and trends, not who you are. | Up to 2 years |
4. Google Analytics
Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited. It does not store full IP addresses, and we have switched off Google signals and advertising features, so the information is not used to show you adverts. Google keeps the information for up to 14 months. Google may process it in the United States; these transfers are covered by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Google's data processing terms. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
If you choose Reject all, or leave analytics cookies switched off, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.
5. Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page: switch analytics cookies on or off, or choose Reject all to keep only the essential cookies the site needs to work. If you switch analytics off, the Google Analytics cookies are removed from your browser straight away.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; every major browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) has a cookie section in its privacy settings. Blocking essential cookies means the basket and sign-in will not work properly.
6. Online payments
Card payments are made on Stripe's secure payment page, which uses its own cookies to process the payment safely and prevent fraud. See Stripe's privacy policy.
7. Changes to this policy
If the cookies we use change, we will update this page and, for anything that is not strictly necessary, ask for your consent first.
